ABOUT

Marcus Wolf is a musician and music producer based in Los Angeles. His main instrument is guitar and is well versed in classical, steel string and electric. He practices his classical guitar daily and keeps a repertoire fit for private events and weddings. Marcus is also a strong singer and tours mostly in Germany performing his original music creating live guitar loops on the fly and building a wall of guitars as part of his show!

Through the years Marcus has always written, produced and performed his own music and has produced seven CD’s to date. The most recent incarnation of his music is the Los Angeles based TRIO with Marco Renteria on bass and Louie Palmer on drums. The first TRIO EP (2014) can be described simply as adult contemporary, mixing thought provoking lyrics with acoustic/electric production that can be compared to John Mayer and Peter Gabriel. On a few tracks the Trio hits a little harder reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix.

The newest TRIO EP entitled ETERNAL was produced at Marcus’ studio in Los Angeles in summer 2015.  This song cycle is more ballad driven, reminiscent of Cat Stevens and a hint of Pink Floyd. The official release date is slated for early December 2015 on iTunes and other digital platforms.

When Marcus isn’t working on his own music, since 2009 he’s worked primarily with classical crossover violinist David Garrett, playing electric, acoustic and classical guitar. Marcus’ October 2010 CD release entitled “Mirror” features David’s violin on the Jimi Hendrix classic “Little Wing”.

Marcus is willing to teach guitar to students who want to really learn the craft and are willing to put the time into learning. For inquiries, please email using the contact page.

In 2007 Marcus was commissioned by the Piedmont Symphony Orchestra to compose and perform “Extensions”, a concerto for classical guitar and chamber orchestra.
